The story behind the scroll

At MonkeySee, we believe something radical: your time is worth more than your feeds.

We started with a simple observation: the average person spends over 2.5 hours daily scrolling through social media. That's nearly 38 days a year—a full month of your life—thumb moving, eyes glazing, mind numbing.

And for what?

Our mission

Break the cycle of scrolling

MonkeySee exists to break the cycle of digital dependence and help people reclaim their most precious resource: time. We're not anti-technology. We're pro-human. Because somewhere between the invention of the smartphone and the perfection of the infinite scroll, we stopped using technology and it started using us.

Our start

The founders' story

MonkeySee was born in 2022 when our founders, Jamie and Alex, realized they'd spent an entire weekend scrolling through feeds without remembering a single thing they'd seen.

"We built this tool for ourselves first," says Jamie. "I was losing hours every day to mindless scrolling and feeling worse for it. The irony of using AI to solve a problem created by technology isn't lost on us, but sometimes you need to fight fire with fire."

Alex adds, "The name 'MonkeySee' came from watching how we all behave with our phones—see notification, pick up phone, scroll feed, repeat. It's almost primal. We wanted to break that pattern."
